Concerning the serial number, It's possible this kid peeled the sticker off I don't know why someone would do that though Or the kid bought a knockoff and resold it to you Or GoPro forgot to put the serial sticker on your camera from the factory refer to this post My latest HERO 3 Black has a serial number but it's not in the usual format It starts with DB and has no letters in the rest of the SN My other HD3B's start with HD3BB and have letters in the rest of the SN The SN in the battery compartment looks like a legit sticker,the same as my other HD3's but for the odd serial numberAnswer (1 of 3) The only surefire way to validate that the product is not a fake would be to go through GoPro or an authorized dealer The biggest issue with a plain serialnumber search is that you don't know whether or not the serial number was just copied from a A Guest Swapped Out A Real Gopro Hero 7 With A Fake Amazon Action Camera And Most Likely Got Their Money Refunded Good Job...
